Having worked for many years as a secondary school English teacher in a variety of schools, I know that the pace of learning in the classroom does not always allow for the level of practice, review and reinforcement of skills that some children need. Often students are forced ‘to move on’ to another skill set before they are ready.
Giving students a space where they feel safe to ask questions and be honest about what they do or don’t understand, is vital for developing self-confidence in their learning ability. Confidence breeds success and success engenders more confidence.
As someone who attended night school as a child, I also know the benefits that extra tuition, a kind of ‘leg-up’ in education, can bring.
Now I would like to give back: to help students progress academically, and also adopt positive mindset behaviours for life-long learning.
A strategic learning process that's fun, engaging and empowering
